IMPHAL, Jun 17 : The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has written to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Y Khemchand, seeking security and administrative arrangements for NEET (UG) candidates from Senapati and Tamenglong districts.
In the letter, ANSAM highlighted the difficulties being faced by NEET (UG) candidates from the two districts who have been allotted examination centres in Imphal for the examination scheduled on June 21.
Given the prevailing law and order situation and the security concern arising from the ongoing conflict, the Association stated that students and their guardians are likely to encounter considerable risks while travelling through routes affected by tension and uncertainty.
Such circumstances have generated widespread  anxiety among candidates whose academic future depends upon their successful participation in this  competitive National examination, it added.
Saying that no students should be deprived of educational opportunity due to circumstances beyond his or her control, ANSAM added that the right to education, equal access to competitive examinations and the safety of students must remain paramount considerations for any responsible  Government.
It urged the Government to make immediate and special arrangements, including adequate security deployment, secured transportation facilities, emergency response mechanisms and all other necessary measures to ensure the safe, secure and unhindered participation of all affected candidates  from Senapati and Tamenglong.
