UKHRUL, Jun 17 : A team of Tangkhul Naga CSO leaders led by TNL president Sword Vashum reached out to the  families of six Liangmai Naga men who were killed after being taken hostage from Leilon Vaiphei village recently.
The Tangkhul Naga Long Working Committee (TNL WC) said its members visited the families at Makhan, where they have been taking shelter.
The families belong to Konsakhul.
The six Liangmei Naga men were among 18 taken hostage from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13. While others were released days later, the six were found dead on June 10.
The Tangkhul Naga Long and other Naga civil bodies have since claimed involvement of the Kuki National Front-Presidential (KNF-P) in the abduction and killing of the six men.
While extending solidarity to the families, the TNL WC said it condemns security forces' combing operations at the Konsakhul village on June 17.
Konsakhul is the village of the victims who were abducted and killed. Carrying out combing operations in the village is highly condemnable, said the TNL WC.
While the Konsakhul village has come under repeated attacks from SoO Kuki militants, its villagers are still mourning the loss of the six men and awaiting the arrival of their mortal remains for customary burial rites. However, instead of delivering justice, security forces have conducted operations at the village insulting them and rubbing salt on their wounds, said the TNL WC.
The civil body termed the security operations "disgraceful" and said it reflected the lack of humanity on the part of the State Government, Central Government and the security forces.
Questioning the intention of the Government, the TNL WC said the security forces were quick to conduct the operation at the victims' village when the actual culprits who killed the innocent civilians were still at large.
Instead of agonizing the village and the victims' families further, the security forces must arrest the culprits involved in the killing of the six Naga men and try them before a Court. All those found involved must be given befitting punishment, it said.
