Bunkers dismantled at Leilon Vaiphei, Konsakhul etc

IMPHAL, Jun 17: Security forces carried out search operations and distmantaled dozens of bunkers in Kangpokpi district today.
The operations at Leilon Vaiphei, Konshakhul, Leilon Khunou, L Mulnui and adjoining areas in Kangpokpi district began early morning.
Around 6000 personnel participated in the operations that dismantled at least 34 bunkers and outposts.
During the operations, the security forces also recovered several arms and ammunition including eleven 12 Bore SBBLs, 294 live rounds of ammunition,  12 Bore SBBLs 11, 12 bore gun GI Live round 294,  six bulletproof vests, and detained four persons for questioning.
The operations came days after six Naga men, who were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village, were found dead on June 10.
There have been instances of exchange of fire between armed groups at the Leilon Vaiphei and Konsakhul village area.
