65th CC Meet Utlou FC, USA post contrasting wins to book semi-final tickets

IMPHAL, Jun 17 : Utlou FC thumped Social Development Club (SDC), Samurou 3-0 while USA, Khurai beat Sainik FC, Tera in five goal thriller to make their places in the semi-finals of the ongoing Babina Group 65th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2025-26 today.
In the third quarterfinal match of the tournament, Utlou FC rode on goals from Laishram Bikash (33’), Bishal Robidas (49’), and Khaidem Amarjit (69’) to seal the 3-0 win over SDC.
Later in the last quarterfinal match, USA fought back from two goals down to stage an heartwarming 3-2 comeback win thanks to Irungbam Parithoi’s stoppage time winner.
Sainik FC headed into the break with a 2-1 advantage with Ningombam Abhijit finding the opener in the 8th minute and Tensubam Donaldo doubling the lead in the 22nd minute.
Salam Parashmani pulled back a goal in the 39th minute before Irungbam Parithoi set up the recovery path by netting the equaliser in the 66th minute.
When the game looked to end in a 2-2 draw, Parithoi scored his second four minutes into the stoppage time to complete the turnaround.
With the win, USA set up a semi-final date with Utlou FC on June 20 from 2.30 pm.
