IMPHAL, Jun 19: The Naga Village Guard, Western Command has condemned Government of India's continued inaction against SoO Kuki militants even after six Naga men were abducted and killed recently.
The Government of India and its security forces must cease their "proxy-war" and stop "supporting" SoO Kuki militants. The Government must deliver justice for the six Nagas who abducted and killed, it said in a statement.
Eighteen Naga civilians including Pastors and farmers were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei Kuki village on May 13. They were stopped at the village by residents, including the village chief, Lalboi Vaiphei, and handed over to armed cadres of the Kuki National Front (KNF-P), a group operating under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, said the Naga Village Guard.
While some hostages were later released, mutilated bodies of six men were recovered nearly a month after their abduction on June 10, it said.
Even after Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has publicly acknowledged KNF-P's involvement in the killing, the NIA after taking over the case has not made any arrest, it said.
Not a single perpetrator has been apprehended even after witnesses have directly pointed out the involvement of Leilon Vaiphei Kuki villagers and their chief in handing over the victims to KNF-P militants, said the Naga Village Guard.
Instead of pursuing the actual culprits, security forces have conducted large-scale operations in the village of Konsakhul which is still mourning the death of the six Naga men, it added.
Under the cover of the SoO agreement, Kuki armed groups are enjoying the highest support from Indian security forces, it claimed.
"If Indian security forces continue their proxy war in collusion with Kuki narco-terrorists and keep attacking Nagas in any part of our land, the Naga people will defend our land and integrity. If any further untoward incidents occur because Kuki narco-terrorists are allowed to remain free and are supported in attacks against the Nagas, the blood of every Naga and of every terrorist who spills it will be on the hands of GoM and GoI security forces," said the Naga Village Guard.
The Government of India must treat the Kuki militants, who have carried out terrorism, as terrorists. The Government of India must deliver justice, and act on the charter of demands which was submitted to it earlier by the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Joint Tribes Council Manipur (JTCM), it said.
The Naga people have suffered. "Our peace-loving nature and generosity" should not be mistaken for weakness, it added.
