NIA rounds up 10 in different cases

IMPHAL, Jun 19: The National Investigation Agency, aided by security forces, arrested four persons today in connection with the looting of arms and ammunition from the 5th Indian Reserve Battalion post located at Chingarel, under Lamlai police station, on February 13, 2024.
Another six were also arrested in connection with other cases.
The four arrested have been identified as Mutum Naoba of Oinam Mamang Leikai, Haorokcham Ma-naocha of Senjenbam Mayai Leikai, Ningthoujam Mo-mocha of Uchiwa Wangma and Kangabam Somananda of Tangkham Awang Leikai.
Expecting their production before the NIA Court Thoubal, families of the four gathered near the Court this afternoon.
The four are yet to be produced before the Court.
Notably, the NIA took over the case in July 2025.
The State Government had also ordered a Magisterial probe to investigate the incident.
The police had earlier arrested six persons  and suspended seven IRB personnel.
The other six were arrested in connection with the 2023 Ukhrul PNB robbery case, 2024 murder of a Hmar woman in Jiribam, abduction and killing of four Kukis, attack on CRPF at Naranseina and ambush on a convoy of CM, said the police.
