Hostage crisis

The hostage crisis between the Nagas and Kukis is the first and hopefully the last. The release of the Kuki hostages 14 in number under the custody of the Nagas on the 27th day was well advised and conducted in the presence of district authorities both civil, security and media persons and very appreciably done. Human rights issues were well testified by the spokesperson of the Kuki hostages.
UNC executive members especially the president pronounced the release of the 14 Kuki hostages very honourably. There was no sense of bargain but under the goodwill advices from Baptist World Alliance, Asian Baptist Federation, CBCNEI, Manipur Baptist Convention, NBCC, Chief Ministers of both Government of Nagaland and of Meghalaya and was in no way under the pressure of GoI/security apparatuses.
It was duly globally acknowledged. Forgive the few people amongst the Nagas who emotionally reacted and rightly so after the 6 dead bodies were handed over. The people who matter in the National affairs of Nagas were consulted and for respect of human rights and Biblical reasons the release of the 14 Kuki hostages was performed unreservedly.
The reciprocation of the Kuki organisation was no doubt disappointing. Terrorists have no law or convention of warfare. The attendant events of killing 3 Thadou Church leaders and another two Pastors along with the four lay persons from Liangmei Naga testify to the barbarity of Kuki militants. Over and above, the Kuki Human Rights group expressing words of gratitude to Home Ministry, Manipur Govt, Security Forces etc and not a single word for UNC and Nagas in general.
The Kuki Human Rights watch group is disappointing as they seem to lack the demeanour of human rights perception which is pathetically skewed. The barbarity of your militants and your moral stature lack distinction. Considering your lack of understanding the violent protests occurring after the news of 6 Naga dead bodies as reciprocation was justifiable.
But our humble stand of releasing your 14 hostages is based on what God had injuncted, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” Rom 12:19.
In the process of this exchange, I wish to remind that your human rights abuses are spine chilling - killing by mutilation/torture!
Dying in the battlefield is altogether different but cold-blooded murder of lay persons and even Church leaders like Pastors, mission workers ? Can it be justified as giving vent to one’s anger or disappointment over some misconstrued injustice
