CC Meet : Khaidem Amarjit nets twice in Utlou FC’s 2-1 semi-final victory over USA

IMPHAL, Jun 20 : A breathtaking double from Khaidem Amarjit propelled Utlou FC to a thrilling 2-1 victory over USA, Khurai in the keenly contested second semi-final match of the Babina Group 65th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2025-26 this afternoon at Mapal Kangjeibung.
With the win Utlou FC set up the final date with AIM, Khabam.
With the remaining final slot in sight, both Utlou FC and USA went at each other with no midfield pause - box-to-box action, quick turnovers, and chances.
Utlou FC struck first in the 15th minute when Amarjit capitalized on a fine chance. Soubam Loyangamba, however, put USA right back into contention, finding the back of the net in the 36th minute to create a 1-1 first-half stalemate.
The fierce second-half deadlock was broken in the 59th minute when Amarjit outmanoeuvred the USA custodian to reclaim the lead.
Utlou FC then successfully weathered a concerted late-game onslaught from the USA midfielders and forwards to walk away with the 2-1 victory.
