CM advocates dialogue, appeals for support

IMPHAL, Jun 20: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand has urged all the communities residing in the State to keep differences aside and look forward to dialogue in order to bring peace in the State.
The Chief Minister has also appealed to all the people to cooperate with the Government’s ongoing efforts to restore normalcy and maintain peace.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a Jan Kalyan Shivir (public welfare camp) organised by the district administration, Imphal West at Chingamathak Young Learners' Club, Hao Ground, Chingamathak (Pishum Lampak).
Addressing the gathering, Khemchand Singh stated that the camp was organised to ensure doorstep delivery of various Government welfare schemes and services to the people of the State effectively.
While lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister of India, Khemchand stated that the camp was a part of the broader effort to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat–Viksit Manipur 2047.
Khemchand informed that the railway line from Jiribam has already reached Khongsang and it is expected to extend up to Imphal within the next two years.
He said that it is being planned to further extend the rail network up to Moreh.
The erstwhile Look East Policy which has now been transformed to Act East Policy will serve as a gateway to South East Asia.
This policy will create new opportunities for the future generations of the State, Khemchand said.
Stressing that there will be no development in the State without creating a peaceful environment, Khemchand asserted that all the communities residing in the State must keep the differences aside and look forward to dialogue for bringing peace.
The Chief Minister also handed over allowances provided by the Education (S) Imphal West to two children under “children with special need”.
He distributed four packets of nutritious food which contain dal and eggs etc to four people suffering from tuberculosis.
The Chief Minister also visited stalls set up by State Government departments in connection with the camp which highlighted several Government schemes.
The camp was attended by Deputy Commissioner (Imphal West), Director of Planning, Mayor (Imphal Municipal Corporation) and staff of various Government departments.
