Sharda pledges to serve Manipur

IMPHAL, Jun 20: MP elect Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi has assured she will serve the interest of the people and work toward restoring normalcy and peace in Manipur.
The BJP leader, who has been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha, said this during a programme held at Youth Club Brahmapur Imphal where she was feted.
Appreciating the gathering for organising the programme, Sharda said she was selected to represent the people of the State in the Rajya Sabha by the Central BJP leadership.
As a Member of the Rajya Sabha, Sharda said  she will work toward bringing peace to Manipur. She urged people to support peace efforts, and assured that she will work sincerely to meet the aspirations of the people.
While striving with dedication to bring peace and development to Manipur, Sharda said she will also work toward strengthening the BJP in the State.
Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata congratulated Sharda, and expressed hope that the Central leadership gives her a favourable position.
Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro also congratulated Sharda.
Robindro said Sharda has been a member of the BJP since 1995 and has served the party and the State in her best of capabilities. Kshetrigao AC MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan and Youth Club Brahmapur president A Geetchandra attended the event.
