Gift Raikhan, Huirem Joykumar condoled

IMPHAL, Jun 23 : The All Manipur Football Association has condoled the demise of two football coaches- Gift Raikhan of Mapao Zingtun village and Huirem Joykumar of Kongba Makha Nandeibam Leikai.
AMFA recalled the services rendered by Gift Raikhan and H Joykumar towards the development of football in the State.
AMFA also prayed for their souls to rest in heavenly abode while sharing the sorrow and grief of the bereaved families.
NEROCA mourns
The North Eastern Re-Organising Cultural Association Football Club (NEROCA FC) also mourned the demise of Head Coach Gift Raikhan yesterday.
In a condolence message, NEROCA FC said his demise is a great loss.
He served as head coach of the club from 2016 except a few years till date. During his terms, Gift contributed countless and tireless efforts to uplift the club with dedication and dignity of labour, it said.
Under his commands, they finished as I-League 2 winners in the 2015-16 season and earned I-League promotion the next season. They were also able to finish runners up in their debut I-League season (2016-17) as well as in the Durand Cup, 2016, it recalled.
The club today convened a condolence meeting this afternoon at the late coach’s residence with club president Thangjam Arunkumar in the chair, it said.
The members present observed one minute silence as a mark of respect and praying for his soul to rest in heaven forever. They also shared sympathy with the bereaved family members, it added.
