IMPHAL, Jun 23: The Government, Dhanamanjuri University and authorities concerned should take up appropriate measures to improve DM Community College and convert it into a Skill University, said Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA).
In a statement, the KSA said the DMU shouldn't treat or reduce the community college as one of its Departments.
Due to mismanagement and irregularities, the status of the college has declined over the years. However, its importance as a vocational institute cannot be overlooked. It has the potential to be developed into a fine institute which contributes to the State's workforce and economy, KSA said.
The Government and the authorities concerned should streamline the functioning of the college and take steps to develop it into a Skill University, it added.
