IMPHAL, Jun 24 : Residents of Jiribam have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement as the water levels of various rivers in the district have risen due to incessant rainfall.
Jiribam Deputy Commissioner Arvind Hanglem, in a public advisory issued today, further advised the residents to stay indoors as far as possible, avoid venturing near river banks, streams, inundated areas or attempt to cross overflowing roads and bridges as such activities pose serious risk to life and property.
Stay alert and follow instructions issued by the district administration and authorities concerned, it appealed.
