IMPHAL, Jun 24 : The Manipur Secretariat Services' Association (MSSA) has cautioned the Government of a more stringent agitation in the coming days unless employees' demands are met.
If the Government fails to meet the 8-point demand submitted by the Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF), the emplo- yees will be compelled to launch a "total cease work strike", said the MSSA in a statement.
The Government employees have been demanding the Government to--enhance the retirement age from the existing 60 years to 62 years; enhance DA/DR at par with that of Central Government employees; revoke order for cancellation of holidays on Saturdays; constitution of State Pay Commission for implementation of 8th Central Pay Commission; scrap New Pension Scheme (NPS)/ Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) and restore Old Pension Scheme OPS for State Government employees; stop partisan and favourited re-engagement after retirement; and stop contractual appointment against sanctioned posts and regularize all contractual/casual/muster roll employees.
The State Government employees  had taken mass casual leave on June 22 and 23, affecting normal functioning of various departments. As the demands are yet to be fulfilled by the Government, the employees across departments should remain united and ready for the "upcoming phases of agitation," said the MSSA. It said a detailed schedule of the agitation will be "notified shortly".
