• Stroke - Tobacco addicts have a very high probability of suffering from stroke. Even secondhand smokers have the same problem because of the harmful substances present in tobacco smoke which destroy the blood vessels in the brain and reduce the oxygen supply to the tissues. However, this can be avoided by abandoning the habit of smoking.
• Oral Cancer – Smokeless tobacco such as gutka, khaini etc., if consumed regularly can lead to mouth cancer. About 1 lakh people are affected by oral cancer every year. If detected at an early stage, it can be cured. But it is always wise to take preventive measures beforehand.
