IMPHAL, Jun 26: People's United Youth Alliance has flagged shortage of manpower and infrastructure at Sugnu Sub-District Hospital.
During an inspection today, PUYA's general secretary Longjam Abothe said its members found only four doctors and five nurses posted at the hospital.
One of the two dental doctors posted at the hospital has not attended the hospital since February, and the hospital lacks specialists--especially Gynaecologist, eye  specialist, he said.
While the hospital has no specialists, it also lacks the required infrastructure for surgery.
The hospital needs specialists, especially Gynaecologists and the equipment required such as ultrasound machines, Abothe said.
Abothe added PUYA members also inspected the Wangoo PHC and found it functioning without proper manpower.
OPD is open in the morning, but there are no doctors to examine and treat patients, he said.
