IMPHAL, Jun 26: A team from the Manipur Fire Service, led by W Rona Singh, Fire Prevention Officer, today conducted a Basic Fire Fighting Training Programme for the 8th Batch trainees of Homeland Academy of Tactical Security and Fire Safety.
The training held under the flagship of IGAR (South) was aimed at enhancing capabilities of professionally trained security personnel, said the Homeland Security in a statement.
During the training, the Manipur Fire Service team trained the personnel on fire related hazards, fire prevention methods, use of fire extinguishers, evacuation procedures, emergency reporting, and immediate response measures.
A major highlight of the programme was the live demonstration of hi-tech fire tender operations. The trainees witnessed the functioning of advanced fire-fighting equipment, emergency response systems, hose operation, water pressure handling and operational techniques used by trained fire service personnel. This practical exposure would help the trainees understand how modern fire tenders operate during emergency response and how timely coordination can save lives and property, said the Homeland Security.
The Homeland Security is committed to building a professional security culture in Manipur by combining skill training, discipline, social responsibility, and placement support. The organisation views every trainee as a future earning member, a responsible citizen, and a safety ambassador for the community, said its director, Rajkumar Babloo Singh.
