IMPHAL, Jun 27 : PTRC, Patsoi and PCC, Mayaikoibi emerged victorious in today’s Group A and B matches of the 1st MNCA Women’s U19 T20 Trophy 2025-26 that kicked off yesterday.
At THAU ground, PCC opened their Group B campaign by handing TCMDC, Thongju a huge 10-wicket defeat.
TCMDC opted to bat first but were restricted to 41/9 by frugal PCC bowlers before they cruised to the winning 45 runs within 5.5 overs riding on the unbeaten first wicket partnership between Elangbam Sophia (22 off 20 balls) and Okram Yashica (14 off 16 balls).
Nongthombam Langlenthoibi Chanu (3/15 in 4 overs), Yumnam Sungsung (2/3 in 3 overs), and Hemam Lingjen (2/13 in 4 overs) earlier shared crucial 7 wickets to help PCC dismantle TCMDC line up in the first innings.
Nongthombam Langlenthoibi who shone with the ball for PCC was adjudged player of the match.
PTRC, Patsoi meanwhile pulled off an 18-run victory over YPHUC, Lalambung to open their Group A campaign in style at Khudeiband Lampak.
PTRC elected to bat first and raised 125 runs for 7 wickets thanks to leading knocks from Laitonjam Purnima (37 not out off 55 balls) and Laitonjam Benita Devi (32 off 19 balls) before Laitonjam Tolika picked three wickets (3/32) to restrict YPHUC to 107/6 in reply.
For YPHUC, Suchitra Devi Waikhom returned with the best bowling figures of 2/9 in her spell of 4 overs before she scored the highest 37 off 41 balls in the chase.
Suchitra eventually walked away with the player of the match accolade.
