Stage set for quarterfinals of the State Sub-Junior Boys and Girls’ Kho-Kho Championships

IMPHAL, Jun 27 : The quarterfinal line ups of the 35th State Kho-Kho Championships for Sub-Junior Boys and Girls were completed today with the end of the league round at two venues.
Boys
The second day of the championship saw SENDYC, Salungpham beat SHSS, Sangaiyumpham by 40-20 points; PH Jr HS Nambol 38-6 points and SESU by 46-10 points to top the Pool A and set up the quarterfinal date with Pool D runners up SADA, Sanjenbam.
SADA, who registered a 42-24 win over SWC, Yumnam Huidrom yesterday, beat ASKKA, Awang Sekmai by 23-19 points to finish Pool D runners up today.
BASU, Khangabok, on the other hand, topped Pool C by beating KSUPS, Kumbi  by 28-8 points for the second win. They will play Pool B runners up SCEASDO, Heirok in the quarterfinals.
SCEASDO, who suffered a 29-40 loss to BES, managed to beat hosts SWC, Khangabok 30-8 to finish Pool B runners up behind BES, Sangaiyumpham who completed their league stage sweeping by getting better of SWC 30-12 and crushing LYOU 41-6.
BES will play Pool C runners up WESC, Wabagai in the quarterfinals.
WESC beat CHMYDA, Sangaiyumpham 22-5 today in a league match to boost their knock-out round chances.
SYA, Salungpham meanwhile sealed the top spot in the Pool D competition to set up a quarterfinal date with Pool-A runners up SHSS. SYA beat ASKKA 40-24 today to climb on top of the table.
Girls
BASU, Khangabok emerged as the Pool A winners to set up a quarterfinal date with Pool D runners up SWC, Yumnam Huidrom.
BASU, who beat KSUPS 25-13 yesterday, extended their winning streak by defeating SCEASDO 25-2 and sealed the Pool A pole position in the girls competition.
ASKKA, who opened their league stage by beating SWC, Khangabok by 64-8 points,  meanwhile topped Pool C and set up a quarterfinal date with Pool B runners up SENDYC.
KSUPS, Kumbi on the other hand finished Group A runners up and set up a quarterfinal date with Pool D winners, SYA, Salungpham who crushed SWC, Yumnam Huidrom 31-2 and prevaled 45-16 over LYOU, Khangabok Part II today for two of two wins.
PRSC, Pourabi meanwhile beat BES 46-18 for the second straight win to finish Pool B winners and will play Pool C runners up PH Jr HS, Nambol in the quarterfinals.
