IMPHAL, Jun 28 : AKSDO, Khangabok and THAU, Thangmeiband carried forward their momentum to seal their second successive wins in the 1st MNCA Women’s U19 Trophy 2025-26 today.
AKSDO, who beat FORCE by 8 wickets in the tournament opener (Group A), sealed their second straight win by handing SU, Sagolband a 10-wicket defeat at THAU ground, Thangmeiband.
SU opted to bat first but were dismissed within 18 overs for a meagre total of 58 runs and AKSDO eased to the winning 60 in just 4.5 overs without any loss.
Ayekpam Bhumika on 6, was the highest run getter for SU in their dismal first innings that saw Laishram Linthoi (3/7 in 4 overs), Thokchom Langlen (2/13 in 4 overs), and Lucyrani Khundrakpam (2/14 in 2 overs) of AKSDO sharing 7 crucial wickets.
In reply, Taniya Ningthoujam shone with a quickfire 38 not out off 21 balls laden with 8 fours as Langlen Ningthoujam supported her with an unbeaten 10 off 12 balls to seal the victory for AKSDO with ease.
Laishram Linthoi, who led the AKSDO bowling attack, was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak, THAU posted their second straight Group B win by defeating MPA by 143 runs today.
Asked to bat first, THAU rode on 21 extras and leading knocks from M Yaiphabi (28 off 22 balls), Robeni Usham (27 off 23 balls) and A Thoithoibi (26 off 18 balls) to raise a competitive total of 165 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and bundled out MPA for a paltry total of 22 runs in 17.1 overs.
Thokchom Purni (3/4 in 4 overs) and Creety Moirangthem (2/1 in 1 over) shone with the ball for THAU to give MPA a tough innings after Laishram Bandana (2/25) and Chanambam Nevia (2/26) picked two wickets apiece for the team in the first innings.
Yumnam Echapamu and Salainganbi Thokchom shared the highest 5 runs for MPA in this chase as 5 other batters went out on ducks.
Thokchom Purni of THAU was adjudged player of the match for producing an impeccable bowling performance.
