IMPHAL, Jun 27: Even months after its formation, the State Government is still unable to expand its Cabinet, said Congress MLA K Meghachandra today, alleging there is no cohesion in the Government and among the ruling parties.
Speaking to reporters at his official residence at Babupara, Imphal, Megha-chandra said the Govern- ment with only five Ministers is struggling in every sector, and the public shouldn't expect much from it.
Unable to expand the Cabinet, the Government, with only five Ministers, is struggling in every sector, and it is blaming the violent conflict for its failure to take up developmental works, Meghachandra said.
Apparently referring to Nemcha Kipgen, Meghachandra said the Deputy Minister is running her office from Delhi, and carrying her duties and work "online".
The Deputy Chief Minister working from Delhi has disconnected her from the public and affected the progress of the departments she holds, Meghachandra said.
Further, Mghechandra said that the Chief Minister has been ignored by the MLAs of the BJP's alliance NPF.
He said Manipur NPF MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 25.
"While the State's Chief Minister was left out of the high level meeting, why he permitted the Manipur MLAs to attend the meeting with the Nagaland CM is a question that has been raised," Meghachandra said.
The State Government is unable to give assurance to the public to resolve the conflict and has so far not produced a concrete roadmap to restore peace. People shouldn't expect much from the present Government, Meghachandra said.
