UG leader produced before Court

IMPHAL, Jun 27: Self-styled chairman of the KCP Taibangangba, Haobijam Dilip Singh alias Taibanganba (52) was produced before the Special Judge NIA Imphal West today.
Haobijam Dilip was formally arrested by a team of Singjamei police on June 1 from the Central Jail Tihar, and remanded to police custody. Today, the NIA Court extended the police custody period of the accused till June 30, the date of next hearing. While several cases are open against Haobijam Dilip, proceedings related to the case of 2018 killing of Thokchom Tony alias Jagat are expected to begin on June 30 when he is produced before the NIA Court. Thokchom Tony alias Jagat was shot dead on the night of March 3, 2018 in front of his house at Nagamapal Phougeisangbam Leikai. Haobijam Dilip was lodged in Tihar Jail after his arrest by Counter Intelligence, Special Cell on May 6. Singjamei police had sought his custody in cases related to extortion. Haobijam Dilip is a resident of Bishnupur Mamang Leikai.
