Swimmer Lanchenba to compete at 12th Asian Age Group C’ships

IMPHAL, Jun 27 : State swimmer Laitonjam Lanchenba is among 20 athletes selected to represent India at the 12th Asian Age Group Championships that will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 17 to July 25, 2026.
Lanchenba, son of L Kanta and Takhellambam Soniya of Brahmapir Bheigyabati Leikai, Imphal East, was selected in the team on the basis of his third place finish in the recently concluded 79th Senior National Aquatics Championships 2026. The Class X student of Nongpok Maheikol secured a bronze medal in the 200 m butterfly stroke event at the championship that was held from June 16 to 21 in Ahmedabad.
