Book release functions held

IMPHAL, Jun 28 : A book titled “Emagi Shalungangba Fanek” written by Ningthoukhongjam Ranjana was released today at a function held at the DIPR Auditorium, Keishampat.
The event, organised by the Writers Forum Imphal, was graced by Forum president Irungbam Basanta and vice president Dilip Mayengbam as presidium members.
Dr Loitongbam Sanajaoba of GP Women’s College gave a brief review of the book.
Separately, at NG College, Imphal, two books- “Sustainable Tourism Development in North East India” and “Manipuri Literature: A Social Document (1891-1947)” authored by Principal Prof Sh Shantibala and edited by Dr Mangoljao Maibam and Dr B Anilkumar, were formally released yesterday.
The event was jointly organised by the Research & Development Cell and IQAC, NG College at the college’s DDUK Hall. DM University Vice Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu, who attended as chief guest, said the books are important for Manipur and urged people to read them for greater awareness.
He added that future generations could draw on them for research and better understand Manipur’s history.
Prof Sh Shantibala presided, while Dr Th Bharat of Manipur University and Ng Iboton were guests of honour.
