Cast and crew of award-winning ‘Mareibak Ningba Herachandra’ receive warm reception at Kakching

KAKCHING, Jun 28: The cast and crew members of the Manipuri film “Mareibak Ningba Herachandra”, which bagged the Best Feature Film Award along with eight other awards at the 16th Manipur State Film Award (MSFA), 2024, were accorded a warm reception during a special screening of the film at Kakching today.
The event was jointly organised by THOUNA Manipur, Kakching Dramatic Union (KDU) and Library and Information Centre, Kakching, at the KDU Hall. It was attended by M Kunjakeshwo, Vice-President of Library and Information Centre, Kakching; Nongmaithem Ratan, President of KDU; and Yengkhom Nilachandra, President of THOUNA Manipur, among others.
Produced under the banner of Ibudhou Khamlangba Films Manipur by Chinglemba Yengkhom and directed by Maipaksana Haorongbam, the film was honoured with the Best Feature Film Award at the MSFA 2024.
Besides the top honour, the film also secured eight awards in different categories, including Best Actor in Leading Role for Naorem Pilot (Pilot Prince), Best Supporting Actor for Yengkhom Ingocha, Best Costume for Mayanglambam Ratan, Best Editor for Yoimayai Mongsaba of Fly High Films, Best Make-up for A Ragini and W Chandrima, Best Background Score and Music Director for Tenao HD, and Best Sound Designer for L Sunil and Bonny Ningthoujam of Hayum Lab.
As part of the reception programme, the award-winning artistes and crew members were felicitated with gifts and certificates by the organisers in recognition of their achievements.
The film was screened in the evening at the Library and Information Centre Hall, Kakching, where film enthusiasts gathered to witness the acclaimed production.
