4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy ESU extend winning run with 250-run thrashing of LCC

IMPHAL, Jun 2 : ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound trounced LCC, Lamsang by 250 runs via VJD/method for the second Group D win in the 4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy 2025-26 at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.
ESU, who had to share points with TCMDC in the previous match that was abandoned, raised a rousing total of 271/4 in 30 overs courtesy of a ton from Hanjabam Donba and a half century knock from Thokchom Simesh. With rain affecting the match, LCC were handed  a daunting target of 281 runs in 30 overs and they faltered badly and were bundled out for 30 runs in 17.2 overs.
Opting to bat first, ESU had a glorious start as Sayonba and Hanjabam Donba added 117 runs for the first wicket until Sayonba was dismissed by Nokun Thongam on 44 (off 46 balls; 5 fours).
Incoming Sandham Abhinash departed cheaply on 5-ball 2 to Nokun Thongam before already settled H Donba and incoming Thokchom Simesh forged 118 runs for the third wicket.
Simesh made a quickfire 65 off 42 balls studded with 6 fours and 3 sixes until he was bamboozled by LCC’s star bowler of the day, Nokun for the third wicket in the fourth delivery of the 29th over.
Donba who completed his century in the final delivery of the 27th over with single off Nokun, was bowled out for 85-ball 108 for the fourth wicket by Senjam Omega  in the final delivery of the 30th over. Donba clobbered 8 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his significant century that fired ESU to 271/4.
Nokun returned with the best figures of 3/39 for LCC before Sayonba tore apart their batting line up en route to his 6 wicket haul (6/5 in 4.2 overs) and Soibam Venus joined forces by claiming two wickets (2/9 in 4 overs).
Th Simesh also picked a wicket (1/0 in 1 over) as Mangal Thongam, on 7 off 19 balls, emerged as the highest run getter for LCC while 5 others departed on duck.
Thokchom Simesh, who produced an allround show to earn ESU the mammoth win, was adjudged player of the match.
