Moyon community honours achievers

CHANDEL, Jun 3: Bujuur Aanchung Puh (BAP), the apex body of the Moyon community, on Wednesday organised a grand Recognition Ceremony to honour distinguished members of the community who have achieved remarkable success in various professional fields and brought pride and recognition to the Moyon people.
The programme was held at Thoma Memorial Hall, Kapaam village, Chandel, and was attended by community leaders, religious leaders, well-wishers and a large number of community members. The event highlighted the community's commitment to celebrating excellence and inspiring younger generations to pursue their aspirations with dedication and perseverance.
A total of six achievers were felicitated for their outstanding accomplishments and professional advancements. Among those honoured was Lucksha N Moyon, who secured Rank 108 in the MCSCCE 2022 and became the first individual from the Moyon community to successfully clear the Civil Services Examination.
Also honoured were John Chinir Moyon of New Khongjon village on his promotion to the rank of Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF); Lt Col Lemjoy Chara of Kapaam on his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Medical Corps under the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), Ministry of Defence; Dr Roel Langshong Moyon of Kapaam on his promotion to Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at RIMS, Imphal; Dr Joyce Chara of Kapaam on her promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (Medical) in the CRPF; and Dr Danney Chara, daughter of late Berang Chara of Kapaam, on her appointment as Principal of United College, Lambung, Chandel.
The programme was moderated by Eddie Chara Moyon, Finance Secretary of BAP. Rev Roel Pheliboy Moyon, Executive Secretary of MYNBA, attended as the blessing minister, while Paarningsha Roel Moyon enriched the occasion with special cultural performances.
Delivering the welcome address, Francis Chinir Moyon, President of BAP, congratulated the achievers and praised their dedication, perseverance and hard work. He stated that their accomplishments had not only elevated their individual careers but had also brought honour and prestige to the entire Moyon community.
During a special presentation segment led by Jireh Moyon, Information and Publicity Secretary of BAP, the achievers were presented with citations and gifts by BAP and the Moyon Naga Women Organisation in recognition of their contributions and achievements.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Angningwar Roel Moyon, Deputy Speaker, who expressed gratitude to the organisers, guests and community members for their support in making the event a success.
