Senapati, 29 Jun: The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has condemned excessive use of force by CRPF personnel and Kangpokpi police against Naga protesters including women at Thonglang, IT Road, Kangpokpi June 28.
Naga women protesters were reportedly subjected to open firing and use of force. A Naga village gate was also dismantled, said ANSAM in a statement.
The ongoing economic blockade across Naga areas is being carried out under the United Naga Council (UNC)'s Charter of Demand and it will continue until justice is delivered, it said.
ANSAM asserted that the Government and its law enforcing agencies should understand the sentiment of the Naga people, seeking justice for the six Naga hostages who were abducted and "killed by KNF(P) and Lailon Vaiphei villagers."
It said the Government must investigate and prosecute those involved in the brutal killing.
ANSAM further maintained that armed security forces and any neighbouring communities shall not be permitted to enter Naga villages without prior consent to prevent escalation of tension.
