THOUBAL, Jun 29: The Meitei Huyen Lalong Shindam Shanglen, Satjal Academy, inaugurated its new branch at Wangjing today with the aim of expanding its activities and reaching out to more people.
The inaugural function began with MLA Paonam Brojen hoisting the Satjal flag. Later, floral tributes were paid to RK Manishana, founder of Satjal Academy, followed by the main function held at Wangjing Canteen Ground. The newly opened centre is the sixth branch of Satjal Academy under the Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), East Manipur Headquarters, Heirok Chingdompak.
The programme was attended by MLA Wangjing Tentha Paonam Brojen, 9-Tentha Zilla Parishad member K Priyojit, Wangjing Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairperson Tekcham Sumila, social worker Lairenlakpam Athouba and social activist LC Kangba as presidium members.
