During the protest demonstration, Nagaram Women's Society secretary, Somila Ramsang, denounced that the Govern- ment of India and Manipur Government have remained mute spectators when innocent civilians continued to be attacked and killed by Kuki militants.
She also criticised the Government for pushing ahead with its plan to conduct Census 2027 exercise before updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The census, she said, must be conducted after the NRC is updated for Manipur.
Chingmeirong Kabui Khul Women's Society president, Purnima Rong-mei, condemned continued Kuki militants' aggression against indigenous communities, and denounced the Government for not taking any concrete steps to curb violence.
She said the Government must immediately crack down on Kuki militants.
She further demanded the release of six Naga men, taken hostage from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13.
Nupi Samaj executive member Wangkheirakpam Usha said the Government must take steps to protect the indigenous communities and their interests.
She said the Government, its agencies and the security forces must drive out Kuki narco-terrorists from Manipur to restore normalcy and peace.
She further called on indigenous communities to unite and face Kuki narco-terrorists.
The protesters held placards demanding the Government of India to "end proxy war, end divisive policies and crackdown on Kuki narco-terrorists."
