School protests theft

IMPHAL, Jun 3 : Students and teachers of Keisham-thong High School staged a sit-in protest today against the theft of 17 bags of rice meant for the Mid-Day Meal Scheme from the school premises.
During the protest, the demonstrators displayed placards bearing slogans such as "Protect School Pro-perty," "Protect Children's Future," "Every Grain Stolen Is a Child's Lost Meal," and "Stealing School Rice Is Stealing from Children," among others.
Speaking to the media, Headmistress Salam Sunita said that a complaint has been lodged with Imphal Police Station regarding the theft of the rice intended for students. Condemning the burglary as an act that undermines students' right to food, she appealed to the Governmentt to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest.
