School felicitates Dr Ronaldo

IMPHAL, Jun 4 : Xtra-Edge School, Ghari Awang Leikai, hosted a special Reception and Interaction Programme on Wednesday to honour alumnus Dr Ronaldo Laishram, whose discovery of the “Loktak Protocluster” has earned global acclaim.
The programme began with a welcome address by Education Lecturer Kh Ruhani, who highlighted Dr Ronaldo’s academic journey and the significance of his discovery of the 12.6-billion-year-old structure, which has placed Manipur on the international scientific map.
Xtra-Edge Foundation Chairman Imocha Akham felicitated Dr Ronaldo with a traditional Lengyan Phi and a Certificate of Extraordinary Achievement. Vice-Chairman N Nipamacha Singh recalled his days at the school from 2012 to 2014, calling him disciplined and hardworking, and urged students to emulate him.
In a moving gesture, Dr. Ronaldo touched the feet of his teachers, principal, and founders before speaking.
He shared how gaming and computer coding sparked his interest in research and helped him analyse astronomical data leading to the protocluster discovery.
Students of Class XI and XII engaged in an interactive session, posing questions on science, careers, and life lessons, which Dr Ronaldo answered patiently.
The event ended on an inspiring note, with students seeing his journey as proof that dreams from a small classroom can reach the stars.
