Fuel smuggling bid foiled

IMPHAL, Jun 4 : Police nabbed two individuals from along Pallel-Chandel road near Pioneer School while attempting to deliver a large quantity of petrol to Myanmar, yesterday.
Police, in its bulletin, stated that the duo was found transporting 3680 litre of petrol in two separate vehicles viz Yodha and Eeco Van.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pasel Nepolian Anal (43), s/o Late Thumthung Anal of Panchai Village, Chandel and Lh Koko George (29), s/o Lh Robin also of Panchai village.
Both of them have been handed over to Kakching police station along with the vehicles and the seized items.
In another instance, police arrested two vehicle lifters identified as Md Nawaz Sarif (34), s/o Late Md Fasiuddin and Md Salamad Ali (33), s/o Late Md Amjad Ali, both residents of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mayai Leikai.
Three vehicles (two wheeler) were seized from them.
