IMPHAL, Jun 4: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has asserted that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Manipur is unacceptable under the prevailing circumstances.
Saying that a large number of Kuki and Zo people displaced by the crisis are still unable to return to their homes, KIM maintained that proceeding with such a critical electoral and administrative exercise without ensuring the participation of a large and vulnerable section of the population undermines the very principles of democratic representation. It said that the Government, along with the concerned district administrations, must take immediate and concrete steps to establish an accessible and inclusive mechanism that will enable all IDPs to participate in the revision process.
