38th State Level Mini Handball Tournament KVWA enter Boys’ semis as Pool A winners

IMPHAL, Jun 4 : KVWA, Mayang Imphal are into the boys’ semi-finals in the 38th State Level Mini Boys and Girls’ Handball Tournament by topping Pool A. The tournament is hosted by Indira Memorial Club, Thoubal Leishangthem under the aegis of the Manipur Handball Association.
KVWA who beat KKLYDO 20-10 for the first win yesterday completed the group stage sweep by defeating SSC, Khurai by 18-16 goals and CYDOL, Lilong Chajing by 22-13 goals and topped the Pool A.
Th Mathoi scored 10 goals alone to fashion KVWA the 18-15 win today against SSC as S Nganba (4), Th Yohenba (2), Th Ronaldo (1) and Ch Robert (1) contributed the other 8 goals.
For SSC, Robikrish scored 6 goals as M Tomthinnganba and N Sasan added 4 goals apiece and Kh Amarjit netted one.
Later in the day, KVWA posted the 22-13 win riding on 10 goals from S Nganba, 9 from Th Mathoi, 2 from Th Ronaldo and one from Yoihenba.
Y Rabikanta and Y Indrajit on the other hand scored 4 goals apiece for CYDOL as Kh Lanchenba and Y Bikash scored 2 goals apiece and Naotomba added one.
In a Group B boys’ match staged today, OYO and YLK played out a 14-14 draw.
In the girls’ competition, KVWA beat OYO 12-4 and KKLYDO beat IMC 15-5.
