IW Chess C’ship 2026 L Mayol, RK Sanghamitra seal U9 Chess boys and girls’ titles

IMPHAL, Jun 4 : Loitongbam Mayol and Rajkumari Sanghamitra emerged as U9 boys and girls’ winners in the 1st Imphal West District U9 and U11 Boys and Girls’ Chess Championship 2026 hosted by the Imphal West District Chess Association at DCA, Tera Sapam Leirak.
L Mayol amassed 4.5 points to seal the top honour as Champion Arambam and Rajkumar Thoiba scored 4 points apiece to settle for the second and the third places.
RK Sanghamitra meanwhile scored 4 points to top the U9 girls’ competition as Uhenbi (2.5 pts) and Lingjelleima Thokchom (2 pts) finished second and third.
Kathrine Potsangbam meanwhile sealed the U11 girls’ title by scoring 1.5 points as Lorena Nameirakpam (1 pt) and Celia Yambem (.5 pt) secured the second and third positions.
Mangal Elangbam, on the other hand, sealed the U11 boys’ title by securing 5 points as Magnus Chingsubam (3/5 pt) and Thounaojam Favein (3 pt) finished second and third.
