5th MNCA Women’s Senior One Day Trophy ESU beat Al-Ameen by 36 runs to end three-game losing run

IMPHAL, Jun 5 : ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound beat Al-Ameen, Lilong by 36 runs to end their three-game losing streak in the 5th MNCA Women’s Senior One Day Trophy Group A competition.
After winning the toss at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, ESU elected to bat first and posted 116 runs for 9 wickets and dismissed Al-Ameen for 80 runs in 22.4 overs to seal the win.
Sultana top-scored for ESU with a 67-ball 49 that included 7 fours in the first innings followed by Laihaorungbam Sanathoi (18 off 70 balls) and Rebika Oinam (12 not out off 35 balls).
Laishram Langlenthoibi (3/20), Najiya Begum (3/32) and Linthoi Khulem (2/13) shared 8 crucial wickets for Al-Ameen in this innings before they faced stiff opposition from ESU bowlers and eventually succumbed within 22.4 overs with the scoreboard reading 80.
Najiya Begum was unbeaten on 26 off 70 balls and she was the only double digit run getter for Al-Ameen as ESU’s Rebika Oinam shone with a four wicket haul (4/17), Leihaorungbam Sanathoi picked two (2/17) and three others chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Rebika Oinam of ESU, who produced an all-round show, was adjudged player of the match.
