The few events between Kuki militants and Naga village volunteers in April and May proved God is there

May 13, 2026 was a sad and shocking day for the whole Christians around the world especially Baptist World Alliance, Asia Pacific Baptist Federation. There were condolences with condemnation from the global communities for the incidents. The gruesome assassination of three Thadou Church leaders is not owned up by any thus far. Though circumstantial evidence points to certain organisation very obviously. Let us leave for sometime to divine justice. However, make sure the God we Nagas, Thadous and Kukis serve is Almighty and just. He had made His righteousness prevail through the years. Sin of such magnitude cannot be hidden. In the Biblical history the sinner always got proved by his own sin (Num 32:23).
For the warning and learning of all, let me quote an episode from the not so far a past. Indian army (21stPara Special forces) ambushed a pick-up truck killing 6 labourers coming back to Oting village (Mon district, Nagaland) from the work site on 04th December 2021. It was not under darkness. Nor was it the first of such labourers going and coming back from the field. It was sheer blood thirstiness. Subsequent storming of the barrack by the villagers resulted in the killing of another 7 more villagers. Nagaland State police filed FIR but was stone-walled with AFSPA. Later prosecution in the Supreme Court could not yield result as the Supreme Court was not willing to entertain what the Government of India did not approve. Such ugly and powerful AFSPA 1958 remains untouched, that is Indian justice. The reports of many international news channels especially Reuter, BBC and Al Jazeera could not make any difference.
Long digression but worthy. Will 3 responsible and respected Church leaders recklessly and lawlessly be killed by bullets, and God not see it being done on 13/05/2026 near Leilon Vaiphei village ? With no sense of remorse passing the buck of the crime going on. To add to the heinousness of the crime another 2 Pastors with 4 others (If what the wind says is true) were killed and mutilated beyond recognition on the same evening of 13/05/2026. The Indian security forces were appraised of it but to avoid or prevent flare up of communal clashes secretly disposed of the bodies. Hence, there will be no funeral in their honour. But the word of God declares,“your sin will find you out!” But what made the perpetrators of these crimes do what they did, the way they did ? What made them so mad and irrational ? There are wars in human history but always there are so called principles of warfare. All the more for the Christian societies. If the perpetrators of this crime believe in God, even know the word of God-let us have time to think and examine in the light of Biblical teachings.
In all probability Nagas would be releasing the hostages under the custody of the Nagas because we believe to go according to Geneva Conventions Article 3 but above everything else Biblically based in humanitarian dealings. Coming to the principle of warfare let us know this fact which decides who wins: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong (Ecc 9:11a) and no king is saved by the size of his army, no warrior escapes by his great strength (Ps 33:16)
The Government of India without a shadow of doubt- are using the Kuki militants as the hunting dogs to ferret out the Naga patriots from their hideouts. If the means used was fair and just, Nagas would have perished long ago. Only those who believed in their strength have perished but those who believe in divine protection -they are thriving, upholding the rights endowed on them. Our forefathers have dedicated Nagaland (wherever the Nagas live: inside India or Burma) for the glory of Christ. Let us wait with prayer and humility for the dispensation of justice loud and clear. The month of April and May were unfortunate months for the Kuki militants in spite of their restless activities, shooting indiscriminately into the neighbouring Naga villages. Only 2 skirmishes thus far. However, the mortality counting from all possible sources placed the number of Kuki militants at well over 60 whereas only 1 amongst the Naga Village Volunteers with 11 non-fatal injuries. How can that be ? I was told by an elder of a Kuki village that it was literally a match between Goliath and David. Though nothing came to the press, the truth was heart wrenching and those must have driven the leader mad to run amuck to commit the heinous crimes of 13/05/2026. The crime against humanity committed by the Kuki militants in the last 2 months are mentioned below:
1. Two innocent children killed by bomb during sleep at Tronglaobi on 07/04/26.
2. Two passengers travelling from Imphal to Ukhrul were shot and killed at TM Kasom on 18/04/26.
3. Three Thadou Pastors/clergy travelling from Churachandpur to Kangpokpi were ambushed and killed on the Kotzim-Kotlen road on 13/05/26.
4. Two Pastors amongst the 6 Naga hostages were taken at LeilonVaiphei village on 13/05/26 and reportedly killed and their bodies mutilated and left in gunny bags to be passed to the Naga village.
The above mentioned crimes are gruesome and heinous indeed and will be condemned but under AFSPA every crime is justifiable so long the Government of India approves. The Nagas have been living under these kinds of free running crimes with no sense of restraints. How long shall we live under the mighty AFSPA ?
