NMFA edge Rahee UC 3-2 for third win on trot

IMPHAL, Jun 6 : NMFA, Nambol beat Rahee UC in a 5 goal thriller to complete Group D league stage sweep in the ongoing 65th CC Meet at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Having beat MIUFC 1-0 and thumped ABA 2-0 in the previous matches, NMFA rode on Salam Dhiren’s first half brace to overcome Rahee UC this afternoon.
N Ruivah had put Rahee UC ahead earlier in the 26th minute but Salam Dhiren scored back to back in the 36th and 38th minutes to overturn the lead in favour of NMFA.
S Ajitkumar extended NMFA’s lead to 3-1 in the 77th minute before P Ngaoveisa scored the second goal for Rahee UC deep 5 minutes into the stoppage time.
Earlier in the day, ABA ended their league campaign with a 2-1 win over MIUFC.
In the Group A match staged in the third ground, NEROCA FC prevailed 4-1 over PATHAP FC.
Wahengbam Abinash (45+1’ P), Victor Mayanglambam (49’), Md Ruhid Khan (81’) and Mustaf Aribam (90+5’) netted a goal apiece for NEROCA FC as Kh Anash scored the consolation goal for PATHAP FC off a penalty 6 minutes into the added time of the first half.
