4th MNCA Men’s U-19 One Day Trophy PTRC thrash LCC by 8 wickets to boost knock-out round hopes

IMPHAL, Jun 6 : PTRC, Patsoi thrashed LCC, Lamshang  by 8 wickets for the third win in four matches and raised their knock-out round hopes in the 4th MNCA Men’s U-19 One Day Trophy today.
PTRC bowled out toss winners LCC for 75 runs in 25.3 overs at Moijing Public Ground and eased to the winning 78 in 7.5 overs with 8 wickets to spare.
Henba Paonam enjoyed a fifer (5/14 in 6.3 overs) while Laitonjam Jackson (2/18) and Thokchom Yaiphaba (2/14) assisted with two wicket hauls to give LCC torrid time today.
In reply, one down batter Ngambarel Naoshekpam scored an unbeaten 43 to guide PTRC to the winning 78. Henba was eventually named player of the match.
KCC, CRAU, CYCLONE script second wins
The day also saw KCC, Kongba Bazar; CRAU, Khamnam Bazar and CYCLONE, Thangmeiband securing second Group stage victories.
At Khudeiband Lampak, KCC beat PTCC, Patsoi by 3 wickets for the second straight Group E win.
Even as Dhirendrakishore scored a 59-ball 66, KCC restricted PTCC to 169/9 in 40 overs riding on Sana Dolaicha (4/33), Sanayai Ningthoujam (2/15), and Thoungamba (2/21) before Md Washim scored a 98-ball 98 to lay the foundation of the KCC win.
N Langamba (3/25) and Devas Tongbram (2/28) led the PTCC bowling attack in a lost cause.
Md Washim was named player of the match.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, CRAU raised a total of 118 runs for all wicket down in 30.1 overs and bowled out Blue Hawk for 109 runs in 32.3 overs to post a 9-run win and extended their Group B winning run to two games.
CYCLONE, meanwhile, earned their second Group A win in four games by beating CDCC in a 1-run thriller.
The day also witnessed, YUCC, Kwakeithel beat THAU, Thangmeiband by 65 runs to open their winning account in three Group C games.
