IMPHAL, Jun 6 : The 14 CSOs, Kangleipak, has appealed to everyone to participate in its rally scheduled for June 8.
The rally aims to demand the updation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur before proceeding with the Census operation.
The procession will start from Tiddim Ground and conclude at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.
Addressing the media at Keishampat, RK Sanahanbi, spokesperson of the 14 CSOs, stated that various organisations have been urging the Government to conduct the Census only after identifying illegal immigrants. The Government, however, has been turning a deaf ear to their demand, she said.
Sanahanbi is also the president of Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL).
Saying that several resolutions will be passed on the day of the rally and submitted to the Government, she once again urged everyone to participate in the rally to protect the indigenous people of Manipur. She said the rally will begin at 10 am on June 8 from Tiddim Ground and proceed through Keishampat, Waheng Leikai, Nagamapal, and Khuyathong before culminating at THAU Ground, where a public meeting will be held.
