IMPHAL, Jun 6: Special Judge POCSO Imphal West has sent a 21-year-old youth, accused of sexually assaulting and blackmailing a minor girl for over six months, to judicial custody till June 20.
The accused, identified as Laishram Dalex alias Grayson (21), hails from Lilong Chajing Awang Leikai.
He was produced before the Court yesterday by Wangoi police.
In the Court, the prosecutor submitted that the accused was arrested after a complaint was filed by the minor victim's mother on May 31.
The prosecutor said the accused had established a physical relationship with the minor girl and took a video of it.
Threatening to circulate and make the video viral, the accused raped the minor girl on multiple occasions at different places from 2025 to 2026, said the prosecutor.
During police custody interrogation, the accused has admitted to having physical relations with the victim on different occasions. The statements of the accused matched with those of the minor girl, said the prosecutor, praying the Court for judicial custody of the accused for smooth conduct of the investigation.
The Court, after hearing the submission of the prosecutor and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused to judicial custody till June 20.
