IMPHAL, Jun 7 : PTCC, Patsoi overwhelmed ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound by 10 wickets to finish Group A runners up and set up a semi-final date in the 5th MNCA Women’s Senior One Day Trophy with SHADOW, Thangmeiband.
In a crucial group A match staged this morning at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, PTCC bowlers restricted toss winners ESU to 49/7 in the allotted 20 overs and cruised to the winning 50 in just 3.5 overs without any loss.
Khundrakpam Anjali (2/8 in 4 overs), Takhelmayum Sanaloo Devi (2/8 in 4 overs) and Niruka (1/3) led the frugal PTCC bowling attack today to keep ESU under immense pressure and restricting the run flow before the opening pair of Ranjita (20 of 12 balls; 4 fours) and Lourembam Prena (18 off 14 balls; 3 fours) finished off the chase with ease.
Sultana Ms (11 off 32 balls) and Oinam Rebika (11 off 28 balls) managed double digit scores for ESU in the first innings.
Khundrakpam Anjali was adjudged player of the match.
With the fourth win in five matches, PTCC finished Group A runners up behind THAU, who were unbeaten in five matches including an abandoned match.
In an inconsequential Group A match staged elsewhere at THAU ground, FORCE, Kshetrigao thumped PCC, Mayaikoibi by 123 runs to finish third in the Group A table.
Asked to bat first, FORCE raised a massive total of 224 runs for 3 wickets in 28 overs thanks to Barkantun Khanam’s 63-ball 85 before E Firdos Hasina (3/3 in 3 overs) helped in restricting PCC to 101/8 in 28 overs.
Barkatun was eventually adjudged player of the match.
THAU will play Group B runners up AKSDO in the first semi-final match on June 9 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Group B winners SHADOW will play PTCC in the second semi-final match on June 10 at the same venue.
