ZUF condemns KIM, CoTU

IMPHAL, Jun 7: The Zeliangrong United Front has condemned Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) for "attempting to implicate the front in every incident arising from [their] internal disputes and conflicts".
The repeated practice of issuing allegations without credible evidence, proper investigation, or factual verification is irresponsible and highly detrimental to communal harmony. Such unfounded accusations serve only to mislead the public, create confusion, and unnecessarily escalate tensions among neighbouring communities, said the ZUF in a statement.
Kuki civil society organisations should cease its practice of spreading 'misinformation and political blame-shifting,' it said.
ZUF added that the front will not tolerate deliberate attempts to tarnish its image, misrepresent its position, or falsely associate it with incidents for which no evidence exists.
Those making such allegations must be prepared to substantiate their claims with verifiable facts before the public, it said. The ZUF further reiterated that the rights, dignity, ancestral land, and historical interests of the Zeliangrong people are non-negotiable.
"Any attempt to undermine or encroach upon these legitimate rights, whether through misinformation, intimidation, or political manipulation, will be firmly opposed through all lawful and legitimate means," cautioning illegal immigrants that its patience is running out. All concerned organisations should exercise responsibility, pursue truth and accountability and refrain from spreading inflammatory propaganda. Peace and stability can only be achieved through honesty, mutual respect, and adherence to facts, ZUF added.
