Painting, quiz competitions conducted

IMPHAL, Jun 7 : Two major student organisations held events today to mark World Environment Day, engaging hundreds of students across Manipur.
Federal Students’ Organisation Kangleipak (FESOK) organised its 4th State Level Painting Competition under the theme ‘Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future’.
Over 1400 students from four categories participated.
In Category A (I-III), Athouba Khoibam of Tiny Tots Unique School secured 1st place, followed by Lamnganbi of KV Akampat and Chanunganbi Abujam of Little Flower. Category B (IV-VI) was topped by Sapam Jooris of KV Lamphel. N Korounganba of Heritage Convent and Oinam Malemnganbi Chanu of Comet School won Category C (VII-IX) and D (X-XII) respectively.
Seven students from each category were also selected for consolation prizes.
FESOK announced a Special Award for Career English Academy School, Khonghampat, for sending the highest number of participants.
Separately, Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) conducted its 3rd Environmental Quiz Competition across five districts.
At TG Higher Secondary School, assistant general secretary Khangembam Pilot said the quiz had Category A for Classes VI-VIII and Category B for Classes IX-XII. The event aims to instil environmental awareness among youth. DESAM also held tree plantation drives at various locations to mark the day.
