2 held with drugs

IMPHAL, Jun 8 : A joint team of security forces arrested two non-local drug peddlers and seized 12 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar from T Khullen along Imphal–Dimapur road today.
T Khullen falls under the jurisdiction of Senapati police station.
According to sources, the seizure was made during a random frisking and vehicle-checking operation conducted at T Khullen check post by a joint team comprising Senapati police, CRPF.
According to police, the team intercepted a Hyundai Grand i10 bearing an Assam registration number that was travelling from Imphal towards Mao at around 1 pm. The occupants of the vehicle were detained for verification. During preliminary interrogation, the detained individuals were identified as Nasimuddin (38), son of Gafar Ali, and Monjit (25), son of Bhueswar Bora, both residents of Golaghat district in Assam.
On searching the vehicle, the joint team recovered 12 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar concealed inside the spare tyre compartment. Following the recovery, the two individuals were arrested on the spot. The security personnel also seized the contraband, the Hyundai Grand i10 along with its key and registration certificate (RC), two mobile phones, one Aadhaar card, and a wallet containing Rs 4,000 in cash.
The seizure was carried out after observing all necessary legal formalities in the presence of a magistrate.
The arrested drug peddlers, along with the seized items, were later handed over to Senapati police station.
