Imphal, Jun 8 : Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh has expressed profound grief over the killing of an innocent civilian, Chunjanglung Panmei (58), son of (L) Kamuga Panmei of Pongringlong Part-I, Rongmei Naga Village, Kangpokpi district, today.
He strongly condemned this heinous and cowardly act of violence against an innocent civilian.
He stated that the State police, along with Central paramilitary forces, are conducting operations to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice under the rule of law.
The CM also assured that the State Government will provide all possible support and assistance to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
The Chief Minister appealed to all communities to maintain peace and harmony, not to succumb to provocations aimed at disturbing the atmosphere, and to cooperate with the authorities in upholding law and order.
