IMPHAL, Jun 8 : Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today inaugurated an exclusive Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Manipur, at the Thoubal District Court complex at Khangabok, Thoubal.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, the Chief Minister stated that the inauguration of the exclusive NIA Court, the first of its kind in the State, marks a significant milestone in strengthening the justice delivery system.
He expressed confidence that the establishment of the Court would enhance the judicial framework and ensure timely access to justice for the people.
Referring to the present law and order challenges in the State, he noted that clients who previously had to approach Courts outside Manipur for filing NIA-related cases can now avail legal assistance within the State itself.
It would not only make the judicial process more accessible but also reduce the financial burden and inconvenience faced by those seeking justice, Khemchand said.
Justice M Sundar, Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, stated that it was a matter of profound satisfaction to gather at the Thoubal District Court Complex to witness what he described as a significant milestone in the ongoing process of building judicial institutions in Manipur.
He remarked that the establishment of the Court should not be viewed in isolation, but rather as part of a larger effort to strengthen the State’s judicial infrastructure.
