38th State Mini Handball Tournament KVWA claim both boys and girls’ titles

IMPHAL, Jun 8 : KVWA, Kokchai Mayang Imphal sealed both the boys and girls’ titles yesterday in the 38th State Level Mini Handball Tournament hosted by Indira Memorial Club (IMC), Leishangthem Awang Leikai, Thoubal.
KVWA girls bagged the top honours by defeating KKLYDO, Kongpal by 24-14 margin in a one sided final encounter.
Ng Jenybala dazzled for KVWA as she single handedly teased the KKLYDO defence set up and netted 13 goals alone to fashion her team a 24-14 win. Jenymax (5), Bidyalaxmi (4), and Th Likla (2) were also on target and contributed 11 goals for the same team.
For KKLYDO, Dolly N scored highest 10 goals as Christina Th and Lucky M added 2 goals apiece.
Meanwhile in the boys’ final, KVWA posted a 24-15 win over hosts IMC to complete the title sweep.
Th Ronaldo and S Nganba scored 9 goals apiece for the winners as Th Ronaldo (3), Yohenba Thongam (2) and Yohenba Asem (1) shared 6 goals. Y Rishikanta was the leading scorer for IMC as he found the target 7 times while Th Somraj and Tomthinganba scored 3 and 2 goals respectively. Lorit Arubam, T Paikhomba and Y Rahul also added a goal apiece for IMC in a lost cause.
