Drug seized

IMPHAL, Jun 8: Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) seized 5 soap cases containing heroin weighing 58 grams this afternoon at New Keithelmanbi along the Imphal Jiribam road.
The NAB personnel were assisted by CRPF.
The heroin was found while checking an empty LPG tanker with Assam Registration number. It was found concealed inside the front dashboard, said sources.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Nongmaithem Rupa (38) of Sapam Mamang Leikai, Thoubal district, has been arrested. Rupa was travelling the drug to Guwahati.
A case has been registered for investigation.
